About the Founder & Principal

Wylie Hui, CPA, CA

Wylie is passionate about helping businesses flourish in this dynamic business environment! He has over 20 years of professional experience in financial planning and analysis; financial modeling; due diligence; risk management; external and internal auditing; and financial process innovation in various industries including mining, telecommunication, technology, media and entertainment, life sciences, manufacturing, and food and beverage sectors.    


Wylie established Altastra to provide bookkeeping, controllership, and CFO services to public and private small, medium, growth, and family enterprises in various industries.    Prior to starting-up Altastra, Wylie joined Tintina Resources Inc. (“Tintina”) as Controller in 2009 and promoted to CFO in 2010 where he built and led the financial, administrative, human resources, IT and other corporate functions while the company was developing a 1.3 billion pound copper project in Montana, USA. Wylie was CFO for two junior mining companies, AsiaBaseMetals Inc. and SolidusGold Inc. as well.   


From 2005 to 2009, Wylie was a Senior Manager in the Transaction Support practice of Ernst & Young LLP in San Francisco, California advising private equity and corporate clients and in the Risk Advisory practice in Vancouver, British Columbia performing internal control compliance; enterprise and project risk management; and process improvement engagements primarily for mining and telecommunication companies. 


From 2001 to 2005, he was the financial lead at TELUS on several information technology and telephony outsourcing deals.    


Wylie received a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the University of Western Ontario and holds CPA (CA – BC and Ontario) and CPA (Illinois) designations. He is currently enrolled in the Family Enterprise Advisor program at the Sauder School of Business at UBC. He lives in Richmond, BC with his wife and daughter and is an avid road cyclist and mountain biker.
